Steves Sacreligious Chili

recipe by Steve Pearson

I know most people would SPIT on this recipe but so did I 15 years ago  when I learned it. It has a LOT of chili don'ts in it but, I'll be danged, it's a great twist on an old favorite and, you know what? I  Think I'll go whip up a batch right now…

    Ingredients:

      2 lb. reg. ground beef
      4-6 strips bacon (diced)
      2 large onions (diced)
      ½ head garlic (crushed)
      1 green bell pepper (diced)
      good chili powder to taste
      crushed chiles to taste
      red pepper to taste
      fresh ground black pepper,
      salt
      1 28oz can tomato sauce
1 19oz can red kidney beans
1 14oz can Mexican style white beans
      1 10oz can corn (really!)

    Directions:

Brown beef in a large pot
Add onion, green bell pepper and bacon at mid-browning,and garlic at the end. Season to  taste. Add tomato sauce. Let simmer for about 1 hour.Add beans and corn. Simmer for 20  minutes.
Serve with good bread, butter and beer
