    Ingredients

      2 Cups Sugar
      1 Cup Cocoa
      1 3/4 Cups Flour
      2 Teaspoons Baking Soda
      1 Teaspoon Baking Powder
      1/4 Teaspoon Salt
      1 Cup Coffee, brewed and cooled
      1 Cup Buttermilk (room temperature)
      1 Stick Butter or Margarine, melted and cooled to room temperature
      3 Eggs (room temperature)
      2 Teaspoons Vanilla Extract
      1 recipe
      Cocoa Cake Icing

    Directions

    Preheat oven to 350o.
    Line the bottom(s) of either : 3x8" round pans or 1x10" springform
    with parchment, wax paper or aluminum foil.
    "Pam" your pans
    In a large mixing bowl, sift together the sugar, flour, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder  and salt.
    Add the coffee, buttermilk butter,eggs and vanilla.
    Beat (or mix by hand) until smooth,
    Pour into prepared pans and bake for 25 - 35 minutes - or until a tester comes out clean.
    Cool in pans for 10 minutes and then remove to baking rack to cool completely.

    Ice with Cocoa Icing

    I found this recipe in Chocolatier a long time ago. It's as easy as a cake mix and very  deep dark chocolate-y!
